PRIVACY POLICY

Last updated August 2026

Your screenplay is the most personal thing you will ever hand us. This page says exactly what happens to it, in plain language.

1. What we collect

  • Account data: your email address, display name, and any optional pen name, bio, or genre you add.
  • Your work: screenplay text, titles, loglines, genre, page count, and draft number that you submit.
  • Assessments: the scores, category notes, and history generated from your submissions.
  • Payment records: what you bought and when. Card numbers are handled entirely by Stripe and never reach our servers.
  • Basic technical data: the minimum logging needed to keep the site running and secure.

2. How your screenplay is processed

When you request an assessment, your pages are sent to the assessment engine to be scored against the fifteen-category rubric, then the result is saved to your account. Your text is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored encrypted at rest.

We do not use your work to train machine-learning models, and we require the same of our processing provider. Your work is not reviewed by staff except where you explicitly ask for help with a specific report, or where we are legally compelled.

3. What is never sold

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or your screenplay to anyone, for any price, ever. There is no advertising network on this site.

4. Who we share data with

Only the service providers required to operate: our hosting and database provider, our payment processor (Stripe), and the AI processing provider that generates assessments. Each is bound by contract to use the data only to provide their service. We may also disclose data where legally required.

5. What becomes public

Nothing, by default. Public visibility is entirely opt-in: only if you choose a pen name and switch on your public profile do your pen name, bio, favourite genre, best score, and non-hidden project titles appear on the leaderboard and your screenwriter page. Your email address is never public. Hidden projects are never shown. Switching the toggle off removes you immediately.

6. How long we keep it

Your work and reports are kept while your account is open so you can revisit them. Delete a project and its text and assessments are removed. Delete your account and everything is removed within 30 days, except transaction records we are legally required to retain for accounting purposes.

7. Your rights

You can access, correct, export, or delete your data at any time from your dashboard, or by asking us through the support page. If you are in the UK, EU, or a similar jurisdiction, you also have the right to object to processing and to complain to your local data protection authority.

8. Cookies

We use only what is necessary: a session cookie to keep you signed in and local storage to remember your theme and writing-mood preference. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are set.

9. Children

Scriptageddon is not intended for anyone under 16. If we learn we have collected data from a child under 16, we delete it.

10. Changes and contact

If this policy changes materially we will say so on the site and update the date above. To ask anything about your data, use the support page.

Scriptageddon™ is operated by Hazard Talent Management. Questions about this document? Reach us through the support page and a person will answer. This page is provided for transparency and is not legal advice.
